Visit of Rasa Mauragis, Chairwoman of the Lithuanian Community of Australia, to the Central State Archives of Lithuania
On March 31, the Chair of the Australian Lithuanian Community and member of the Lithuanian Parliament–World Lithuanian Community Commission, Rasa Mauragis, visited the Lithuanian Central State Archives. At her initiative, a tripartite cooperation agreement was signed in 2022 between the Lithuanian Central State Archives, the Australian Lithuanian Community, and the Australian Lithuanian Archive. In 2023, staff from the Lithuanian Central State Archives visited the Australian Lithuanian Archive in Adelaide.
During the visit to the archives, the parties discussed further cooperation opportunities in the field of cultural heritage preservation and promotion. They shared insights on how diaspora archives should be managed, where they should be stored, and what Lithuania’s role should be in this process.
To mark the 75th anniversary of the Australian Lithuanian Community, the Lithuanian Central State Archives staff interviewed Rasa Mauragis on sensitive topics concerning the community and captured her memories about her parents and family.
