Functions of the employee holding this position:

  • analyses the technical condition, operation and development needs of information systems, digital collections and other digital solutions managed by the Office of the Chief Archivist of Lithuania (hereinafter – LVAT);
  • develops, improves and maintains software code, specifically Spring Boot applications, ensuring the functionality, stability and operation of information systems and related digital solutions;
  • analyses and resolves software malfunctions and incidents, identifies the causes of errors based on the analysis of system logs, integrations and data flows;
  • develops, enhances and maintains application programming interfaces (REST APIs) and system integrations within information systems managed by LVAT, ensuring the reliability and efficiency of data exchange between systems;
  • analyses and assesses the quality of the technical solutions used, identifies needs for improvement and submits proposals for increasing the efficiency of software solutions;
  • carries out software deployment, updating and versioning activities by applying containerisation practices using Docker and continuous integration and deployment practices using GitLab CI/CD, ensuring the smooth deployment and operation of information systems managed by LVAT;
  • modernises existing software components, including the maintenance of Java 8/11 services and their modernisation to Java 21, as well as the updating of other technological solutions;
  • provides technical consultations to employees of LVAT and state archives, institutions related to the operation of information systems, and system administrators on matters concerning system solutions;
  • implements and maintains software-level security solutions, including OAuth2 and Keycloak, in information systems managed by LVAT;
  • substitutes for the Head of Division in their absence;
  • carries out other non-permanent assignments related to the functions of the division, assigned by the Head of Division and/or the Chief Archivist of Lithuania, in order to achieve LVAT’s strategic objectives.

The employee must meet the following special requirements:

Education and work experience requirements:

1.1. hold a university degree in the field of informatics sciences, specifically a Bachelor’s degree, or an equivalent qualification recognised as such by a competent authority;

1.2. have at least 3 years of work experience with the Java programming language;

1.3. have work experience in developing and maintaining Spring Boot applications.

Foreign language proficiency requirements:

2.1. language – English;

2.2. level of language proficiency – B2.
